How to Install Android 5.1.1 On Xiaomi Redmi 1S Via MoKee ROM
Developers who invented MoKee ROM has released a custom build specially for the Redmi 1S based on Android 5.1.1_r3 build LMY48B.It’s an open source developed team which is based in China. Mokee is a pree-rooten custom ROM. Developers of this ROM is trying to fix the problems at every update. If you want to see the change log of this ROM then go MoKee Opensource
Important Notes:
- This ROM is under construction, so you may face some bugs time to time
- This guide is only for Redmi 1S. Doing this procedure on any other model or device would brick that device.
- If your device get stuck on booting animation or boot loop after the rooting then perform a wipe cache partition & wipe dalvik cache for a few minutes before rebooting the device
- After the ROM is installed, give it 10 minutes for the first boot
Prerequisites:
- Take a full backup of every important data of your smartphone
- Enable USB debugging of your handset. To enable the USBV debugging you need to go to the Settings> About Phone. Now tap on the build number several times til you see a message appearing that you are a developer now. Now go to Settings > Developer Options
- Charge your Redmi 1S to at least 80% so it does not switch off at the rooting procedure
- Redmi 1S should be rooted with the latest custom recovery installed on it like TWRP

How to Install Android 5.1.1 On Xiaomi Redmi 1S Via MoKee ROM
1. At first, you have to connect your Redmi 1S with your computer via USB cable then move the downloaded files to your internal storage of the phone.
2. Now disconnect your phone from the computer and boot into recovery mode. To go to recovery mode press Power & Volume Up buttons together for a few second and the recovery menu will appear
3. Now while in the recovery mode, you have to create a nandroid backup of the current ROM so that it can be restored if the new ROM does not work or you don’t like the new ROM. In the recovery meny you need to select Backup and do a swipe on the Swipe to Back Up button
4. Now perform a wiping task. Go to the recovery menu and chose Wipe. Then do advance wipe & select system, data, dalvik cache and code
5. Now go back to the recovery menu and chose Install then navigate to the folder where you have saved the MoKee ROM & select the confirm installation
6. Now install the GAPPS package in same way
7. Right after the installation process is done, perform wipe cache & dalvik cache
8. Now reboot your Redmi 1S
