How to Install Android 5.1.1 in Xperia Z Yuga with Euphoria OS ROM

If you want to upgrade or install android 5.1.1 then follow this guide. This guide is specially for the Sony XPeria Z Yuga onlt. See the ROM info below.

ROM Info:

  • ROM OS Version: 5.1.x Lollipop
  • ROM Kernel: Linux 3.4.x
  • ROM Firmware Required: unlocked bootloader
  • Status: Stable
  • Created on: 11th April

Important Note:

  • Doing this will void your warranty
  • You should take a full backup of your important data using a custom recovery
  • Doing this on any other phone or model will brick that device
  • You are doing this at your own risk, we are not anyway liable for any damage to your handset
  • Proceed at your own risk

Prerequisites:

  • Enable USB Debugging on your phone to connect it with computer and use sdk with it. To enable USB debugging Navigate to Settings > About Phone. Now tap on the Build Number several times until a pop up message appearing ” You are now a developer” . No go to Settings > > Developer Options
  • Your device should have at least 80% charge
  • You phone need to be rooted with latest recovery mode pre-installed
  • Your Xperia z Yuga should have unlocked bootloader
  • After the flashing if you phone get’s stuck on booting animation/ boot loop then do a wipe cache partition and wipe dalvik cache for few minutes before rooting the device
  • After the ROM is installed you should give 10 minutes to the ROM to boot for the first time

How to Update Xperia Z to Euphoria OS ROM based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop

Step 1: At-first you have to connect & mount your Xperia Z USB memory using USB cable to PC

Step 2: Now download the file provided above and move the files to SD card of the phone and keep them in the root of the phone. Don’t move to any folder, keep in the root

Step 3: Now switch off the phone

Step 4: Now go to the recovery mode by pressing Volume UP, Home button & power button together.

Step 5: Once you are in the recovery mode, perform a full data wipe by selecting wipe data/factory reset. In order to select anything in recovery mode use the Power Button

Step 6: Now perform a cache wipe by selecting the wipe cache partition

Step 7: We you have to perform a wipe of dalvik cache. You can proceed without doing this but we ighly recommend to do this so your phone don’t get into bootloop or other errors. Select advanced the wipe dalvik cache

Step 8: Now, return to the main recovery menu. Then select install zip from the sdcard then Choose zip from sdcard and then navigate to the location where you have placed the Euphoria OS ROM. Now select it and confirm installation on the next screen.

Step 9: Follow the same procedure to install Gapps

Step 10: Right after installing ROM & Gapps you should go to the recovery menu and select reboot system now.

Now your Xperia Z should be up & running on the Euphoria OS build with new Android Software.
