How to Install Android 5.0 Lollipop On LG G2 By Using Unofficial CyanogenMod 12

LG G2 is an awesome flasgship from LG. If you are a owner of LG G2 and want to use lollipop on your LG G2 then follow this thread. A reputable developer named Rashed97 from XDA developed and releases a cusotm CM12 firmware which supports LG G2 such as D800 (for AT&T), D801 (for T-Mobile), D802 (for Europe), LS980 (for Sprint) and VS980 (for Verizon).

Note:

• Doing rooting will void your warranty
• Take A backup of all the datas of your phone
• Charge your LG G2 atleast 70%
• Enable USB Debugging: Go to settings of your phone , then About Phone then tap 5 times on the Build Number. Now return to Settings then Development Settings the check the USB debugging option.
• Double check to see that you are using zv8 bootloader on LS980 and 12b bootloader on VS980. For more help check this XDA thread
• Mind that you have to have a rooted LG G2 to proceed
  • Have the latest CWM or TWRP recovery
    We are recommending these recoveries for this ROM :
    1. CWM: 6.0.5.2 or greater
    2. PhilZ: 6.0.4.8
    3. TWRP: 2.8.1.1 or greater
• Remember to check the model number of LG G2 and install the CM12 accordingly. Remember that installing the wrong one will make your phone brick

How to Install Android 5.0 Lollipop On LG G2 By Using Unofficial CyanogenMod 12

1. At-first you need to download the appropriate CM12 and Gapps file for your LG G2.
2. Now download the files into your desktop or other folder
3. Now boot your phone int o recovery mode by pressing the Volume Down and Power button at the same time. When the LG logo appears release the buttons then press them agaiin. After that press the power button three times. In recovery mode use the Volume buttons to navigate to the desired position.
4. Now in recovery mode create nandroid backup. This is to make sure that if anything goes wrong you get the chance to restore the current setup easily. To do this select the backup and restore.
5. Now perform the wiping task on the recovery mode. To do that select wipe/datafactory reset and confirm action. Now select Wipe Cache Partition.
6. Let’s move the the recovery menu again and select the install zip from the SD card then choose the zip from SD card.
7. Now, locate the CM12, then select it and confirm the installation
8. The ROM will be installed and repeat the same process to flash the Gapps
9. This will take few minutes. After the installation is completed reboot the phone by selecting the reboot system.
